Bio
Bashu is a dynamic individual with an extensive history of leading and participating in a variety of guilds in different games. One of Bashu’s most significant accomplishments was leading a successful PvP Cyrodiil guild for six years in ESO, where he was responsible for coordinating 36-person groups in Discord up to 78 people on important occasions. As the guild leader of Rough Riders, AoC, and DC Faction Leader No CP in the latter 4 years, Bashu was instrumental in ensuring the team’s success. Though Bashu has retired from this position as of July 24, 2022, the legacy of this successful guild continues to inspire other gamers.
Beyond ESO, Bashu has played in World of Warcraft, where he started several arena teams. He also held a similar high-ranking position as sergeant major for the 94th in World War II Online from 2001 until 2003. Bashu is a gamer and skilled leader who loves playing a variety of games and has been active in the gaming community for decades. He has also made significant contributions to the community, such as creating uojournal.com, a news site for each of the 21 UO shards (servers). He also designed a large-scale combat system for AD&D. Bashu is also an experienced basketball coach who devoted seven years coaching youth basketball. As a lover of games, Bashu has extensive experience playing both classic board games and modern video games, including a stint as a DM for Advance Dungeons and Dragons.

How I got the name Bashu
The name Bashu came from needing a name for an avatar in Elder Scrolls online (ESO), two of my real-life friends, and I had joined Elder Scrolls online (ESO). We had played computer games together for years, starting with a game called NFL Challenge by XoR in 1986. I always played a Wizard named Durham Stargazer, (A War Wizard) in our MMO Fantasy games and AD&D Games, one of my other friends typically was the tank.
The three of us all around level 14 on the first day of Elder Scrolls online, we head to a public dungeon to fight our first minor boss. We get thrashed badly by the minor monster. I then say to my comrades ok who is the tank? No answer. I asked again…. who’s the tank? so then I get answers like “I am just a dps” and “I am an off healer dps” Oops, we had no tank.
So the next day I rolled myself up a Dragonknight after a bit of studying online which suggested Dragonknights made good tank toons in ESO. I used to be an avid reader of the icewind dale trilogy and immediately thought of Bruenor Battlehammer as a tanky toon to emulate. He was always bashing enemies with his shield, so… it came to me, Bashu, pronounced Bash “you” I was going to be tank toon, so I used Ironshield, instead of Battlehammer. Hence Bashu Ironshield the Dragon Knight was born and that is how I came up with the name Bashu
